X1V1 Core Modules

Foundation ESB
X1.V1 Foundation ESB provides a software framework for managing the lifecycle (including design, development, maintenance) of integrations while providing a core orchestration engine for all platform services.
X1.V1 Foundation ESB builds on a generative approach to integration development with wizards, component catalogues and automatic code generation building on an infrastructure for transforming, monitoring, verifying, auditing and routing messages in transit.
EMPI
X1.V1 EMPI provides for a central source of consistent patient identities and demographic data with extended support for multiple identifiers across complex systems and ensure uniqueness of each patient’s chart. X1.V1 EMPI features advanced algorithms for automatic detection of potential duplicates with merge proposals.
While supporting for multiple patient domains and MPI federations, X1.V1 EMPI makes patient information continually available to internal and external consumers.
MCI
X1V1 MCI terminology index enables real time semantic interoperability by managing terminology assets and identify suitable management policies.

X1V1 MCI allows definition and lifecycle management of terminology assets such as CodeSystems, ValueSets and Mappings

Single-Sign-On
X1.V1 SSO provides centralized identity management verification for users, providers and connected applications. With secure, single entry-point in-context invocation of platform services, X1.V1 SSO supports for a wide variety of identity stores including support for federated identity management. X1.V1 SSO token-based single sign-on manages credentials according to user roles or access policies and all user activity is audited and logged.

X1V1 Support Modules

Document Registry and Repository
The Document Registry and Repository are the central components of X1.V1. These components are devoted to accept, maintain and store documents submitted by document source applications. The Repository, combined with the Document Registry, allows for an integrated environment. While the repository component manages documents, the registry manages the metadata associated with said documents. The primary advantage of this approach is that there are no restrictions on the amount of document repositories that can be associated with a single document registry. Additionally, there are no constraints on where a document repository can be hosted; the decision can be based on many implementation considerations. The “atomic” information (e.g. documents, events) in the Clinical Document Repository, can be accessed and viewed individually or in aggregate form through the X1.V1 Web Portal module.
Security and Authentication
User authentication is supported by the Authentication component of X1.V1, which allows for the management of access policies for single sign-on in application contexts of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). This component enables a “User Registry” that stores the access credentials of all operators.

Patient privacy and information security are very important aspects for the definition of the overall policies of a community. It is the responsibility of an organization building a community to understand and carefully implement the policies of that community and to perform the appropriate risk analysis.

Policy Manager
X1.V1 Policy Manager effectively allows each patient to control its own information in accordance with its privacy rights and regulations. Moreover, X1.V1 Policy Manager enables the lifecycle management of patient’s consent across the system over three levels of detail (chart, event, single document), by storing and enforcing privacy rules, granting or denying access to Patient Health Information (PHI). Privacy restrictions can be overruled in an emergency situation (e.g natural disaster) as per HIPAA requirements.
Workflow Manager
X1.V1 Workflow Manager enables multi-disciplinary and multi-institution care processes, effectively transitioning to an extended longitudinal patient care. X1.V1 Workflow Manager enables cooperation between operators and applications in the same process. The Workflow manager is a standalone modeling tool for designing processes graphically, based on BPMN2 and DMN, that defines workflow components with ease. By leveraging X1.V1’s integrated Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), the Workflow Manager is also able to integrate workflow-unaware applications, expanding the range of care process coverage.
Notification and Alerts
The Alerts and Notifications function further extends X1.V1’s ability to move information across disparate systems and care providers. This process allows users to notify any other user in the care continuum of the availability of a new document, or enable event-based workflows, near real-time document consumption, and continuation of business logic. X1.V1 allows for the management of document availability subscriptions with different levels of metadata granularity and expiration dates. Notifications can also be generated when a defined subset of the FHIR resources are stored in the CDR change.

X1V1 Application Modules

Health Viewer
X1.V1 Health Viewer provides a web-based graphical interface to end users for browsing and displaying documents stored in X1.V1 Repository, thus providing in-context or out-context secure access to clinical information. Its responsive layout is perfect for both desktop and mobile usage. X1.V1 Health Viewer supports for patient search, document query, document retrieve and display, with a powerful rendering engine for CDA2 documents and FHIR resources. Furthermore, event timelines, including clinical pathways and processes, highly enrich the user experience in accessing and understanding patient’s data.
X1.V1 Web Portal
X1.V1 Web Portal enables patients and healthcare professionals to access, consult and track a patients’ clinical history in real-time and can be easily integrated and accessed via third-party applications. This secure portal is reserved for authorized users depending on predefined roles (physicians, nurses, patient, clerks), nurturing a patient-centric approach beneficial to all. The Web Portal is an essential tool for patient empowerment and facilitates physician-to-patient communication and mutual understanding.
